ARLINGTON, VA SEMINAR, 110318

Although this seminar is very practical in terms of techniques taught, it also spends some time dealing with the “commonality” of techniques, or the unification of what appear to be different techniques into a single technique concept and movement. The “Household Items” segment emphasizes the application of the “empty hand” concept of traditional jujitsu to common household items. In other words, if one has a good understanding of the “empty-hand” concept, almost any kitchen or household item can become an extension of your hand and thus compose an effective jujitsu technique. The only downside to the Household Items segment is that there is no audio due to technical difficulties. However, if you watch the video you should be able to learn the techniques anyway.

This 5-mp4 set totals a bit over 4.3gb of video covering the following topics:

          Commonality of Techniques [994mb]

          Handgun Defenses [2gb]

          Defenses with Household Items [468mb]

          Knife Defenses [1gb]

          Rifle Defenses [852mb]

ARLINGTON, VA SEMINAR, 110417
This seminar by George Kirby, conducted at Sensei Thomas Salander’s Arlington, VA dojo covers the topics of how to train your uke, what you can do if partially disabled, and counters to common locks, holds, and throws. Although the sound quality leaves something to be desired at times, there is a lot of worthwhile information in this seminar. Each of the three mp4 files are about 36 minutes long and 2.8gb in size.
Part 1: Training Your Uke [How to be a better and more effective uke]
Part 2: You’re Disabled [Options on techniques if you’re partially disabled]
Part 3: Counters [Almost any technique can be countered]

CANE TECHNIQUES
This video, originally produced around 2000, has been sitting on my shelf with no cost-effective way to reproduce it. However, converting it to a single mp4 file in 2013 makes it possible for this short video to clearly present 9 simple but effective cane techniques in under 3 minutes! All of the cane techniques are based upon a working understanding of the “empty-hand” concept. Watch this video [has no narration & doesn’t need any] to launch your proficiency in the use of a cane for self-defense purposes.

A fast self-defense response is necessary on the street. This video compresses a 4-hour 2005 seminar down to 35-minutes of intense instructional guidance. In covering 7 quick takedowns that go into 12 different submissions, Prof. Kirby also shows how non-striking techniques can flow into a variety of submissions that have law-enforcement application, and common pitfalls to avoid. Sensei Marc Tucker combines his knowledge of Krav Maga with his extensive experience in Jujitsu to teach you three effective gun disarms in addition to explaining the theory, strategy and application of effective gun disarms. Recorded and edited by Marat Gelman.
